Twitter is becoming one of the most popular website in the world. It is a social networking website that has grown very quickly. To date, it boasts of having millions of members in its database. As a marketer, how can you take advantage of this fact? First, let's start by understanding how Twitter works.
Basically, Twitter is a micro blogging platform. Signing up for an account is free. You then use your account to update your friends about what you have been up to. Twitter doesn't allow you to post lengthy content about what you have been doing. When you want to post something on the platform, you are only given 140 characters. Within these 140 characters, you must say everything you wish to say. For example, you can say something like "I'm now writing an article." If you wish to furnish more information, you can create a link to an external site. This website can be a blog or a corporate website.
As a marketer, you can benefit from Twitter in the following ways.
1) Build a huge following.

3) Communicate more often with customers.

This is the number one benefit. You can always use Twitter to grow your customer base. Some people refer to your following as the fan base. Your account will show exactly how many followers you have. Followers are Twitter members who have decided to "follow" you virtually to see what you have been up to. The more followers you have, the more traffic you will receive when you post on the platform. That is why many marketers are making so much noise about this micro blogging platform. You can become famous online in a very short time if you know what you are doing.
2) Post discount codes.
Some companies use the platform to run promotions. Traditionally, this is done using email newsletters. But times have changed. More and more people are spending time reading what is being posted on the social platform. So this becomes another channel for ongoing promotions. 3) Communicate more often with customers.
On the Internet, building relationships is one of the keys to success. You can always use Twitter to update your customers about your progress. Whenever you have an update, just post to your account.
